Tutor YUKO
Hi, I’m Yuko, a native Japanese speaker, art educator, artist, and language enthusiast. I support learners in exploring Japanese through culture, creativity, and meaningful connection.
I was born in Tokushima Prefecture and grew up in several regions of Japan, including Osaka, Saitama, Gunma, and Tokyo. I studied fine art with a focus on traditional Japanese painting at Tama Art University in Tokyo. After graduating, I worked as an art teacher in middle and elementary schools, as an educator at an art centre, and later as a digital marketing strategist. Since 2023, I have been living in Estonia, where I began teaching Japanese to local learners.
Today, I help students not only learn Japanese, but also understand how the language is used in real cultural, social, and professional contexts. My teaching is informed by experience in education, museums, and the contemporary art world.
If you are curious about Japanese culture, this is a welcoming place to begin. If you are an artist or art student, I can also support you in presenting your work and projects in Japanese.

Our mission is not just to teach Japanese as a language, but to let you experience it through culture.
We begin with what is familiar and inspiring, anime, manga, and pop culture, making Japanese fun and approachable. From there, we invite you to dive deeper into the wider world of Japanese traditions, contemporary art, and everyday culture, where language and creativity grow together.
In our lessons, you’ll talk directly with a native Japanese speaker and join engaging cultural activities that bring the language to life. For art professionals, we also provide dedicated support to help you express your own artwork and projects in Japanese with confidence.
